Secrets of the Old Woman Who Never Dies, by Virginia Meyer & Judy Koons
NEW!  NOTICE OUR NEW BLOG PAGE!!

Still under construction, but operating, is our new BLOG page.  If you have been wanting to ask questions or connect to a network of moon watchers, now is your chance.  We are offering  a "secrets" page to our readers and some extra information as we go along, just for readers of our book (not functional as yet).  Go to our BLOG page to find out what we are giving followers of this web site--more complete interpretations of each New and Full Moon as they come up over the horizon, as in Archetypes.  Also we will be showing you  how to create the Solar Chart used in the book, and writing short articles here on the home page, using paragraphs from the book as a basis to expand some interesting trivia about Moon astrology.

Who Is She, and What Are Her Secrets?
A Legacy
Too Long Ignored.

The early pagan shamanic religions left us a Legacy—the example of their responsibility to periodically recognize the sacred dimensions of Earth, Time, and Space at the four seasons marked by the Solstices and Equinoxes, and at Moon’s four ritual moments  marked by her phases—the Universal dimension manifesting through the Personal dimensions.

What if you looked out one night and could not see the moon?  Oh, well, that happens from time to time.  Not to worry.  But what if you couldn’t see it for a whole month?  That would be strange.  We thought about that, and wondered what it would be like if the moon disappeared.
We consulted the science gurus.  They told us that Moon’s orbit around Earth is “erratic” or changeable. Being curious about things like that, they discovered that these strange orbital anomalies were keeping the wobbles of the Earth’s orbit around the Sun from getting out of hand so that Earth would not then spin out of her orbit and have the traffic accident of all traffic accidents.
Moon’s monthly journeys around Earth are actually calibrated to the finest degree with Earth’s orbit. Shockingly, without the Moon’s seemingly erratic changes Earth would, in fact, wobble so badly that life of any kind would be impossible on Earth. In other words, this seemingly “dead” satellite of Earth is in actuality a cosmic gyroscope. Without this piece of divine technology we wouldn’t be here.  That’s a fact.
We already know that on Earth Moon miraculously looks exactly the same size as the Sun, even though its true size is a tiny fraction of Sun’s size. It seems to have been set in the sky very carefully, such that its distance makes it appear to be the same size.  Is it any wonder that myths and scriptures have struggled to figure out what God or the gods thought about sun and moon’s relationship?  Both the same size, one ruling the night the other ruling the day.  Both divine in origin to these early people, who early on set about making calendars using the two time markers everyone can see.  Sun marking the boundaries of the year, Moon marking boundaries of the month.
Doesn’t it make you feel a sort of comfort to know how the Moon surrounds and protects us—fragile creatures that we are—from being extinguished should our wobbly planet stray from its orbital path? The ancients could not have known this and yet, since time immemorial the Moon of many cultures has been our Lady Protector. In astrology she represents both changeability and protection or nurturing.  However, there is much to be learned from the Moon herself if one can turn from the printed page and actually live out the Moon’s cycle in one’s own life.  There is self understanding by standing in the light of the waxing moon, and greater Self-understanding from listening inwardly to the meaning of the waning moon.
The book Secrets of the Old Woman Who Never Dies is about transforming your consciousness while following the path of the moon phase energies each month, as it reveals this piece of your own life purpose. You won't believe how these phase-energies can be interpreted by a lay person as a true divination--you don't even have to be psychic to do it, though you might become psychic in the process. Nor do you have to be an astrologer—you just follow the “cheat sheets” sprinkled liberally throughout the book, and the centerfold dial in the middle. The process should be painless unless you cut yourself on the scissors while cutting out the two wheels of the centerfold dial!—the dial that makes the moon’s passages personal at the same time all humanity is receiving these same energies.
Before we met, Judy and I had played and danced with the moon for years because we were fascinated.  Always, the reason was beyond our conscious understanding.  Yes, it seemed to give us information about what comes next when a new moon occurred.  But “did it really work?”  Was it our imagination?  Piece by little piece the answers revealed themselves and after years of repetitions of cycles, each bringing us different information, we had no choice but to share something so exciting it was keeping us awake nights.  We tied political and other news events to the the cycles and learned something significant about the spiritual meaning behind these events.  Then we looked for the same kind of information in our personal lives.  How could six billion people all get different meanings from the same moon cycle?  We couldn’t ask them, so we asked each other, How can you get a different meaning from this new (or full) moon than I do from the same moon?  We finally learned that each moon phase opens an archetype into ours and everyone’s lives.  It is the nature of archetypes that they carry unlimited meanings that are lived out by anyone touched by those archetypes. This is a long story, told in our book, but what we want to tell you right now is that following the Moon cycles (actually, the sun-moon cycles) transformed our lives in so many ways.  A moon-phase is actually an interaction among Sun, Moon and Earth, or more explicitly spirit, soul and ego, in which the potential for ego transformation is always present and the information is always available for those who want it.
Every month is a chapter in your life—you can learn after a new moon, how to better express your own self (ego) within a greater context than one human life.  At full moon and after, you can act on that learning and create wisdom from it, while increasing your personal knowledge about your Higher Self, the greater Self that is delimited.  You  won’t want to do this unless there are benefits.  These are highly regarded in some circles.  They are the comfort and empowerment that come from bonding with the great archetype of the divine feminine, and an integration of our own little self with our overshadowing soul and spirit.
We can assure you that the Moon does indeed guide the traveler through the darkest night—even a dark night of the soul, of which Moon is the earthly symbol and our connecting link to soul. Not only that, it prepares the ground for transformation afterward.
We invite you to join us and others in walking in the footsteps of the ancestors—walking the moon path. Even if you do not yet have our book you can read the first chapter on our website; and you can immediately begin working with the first four monthly Lunar energies.

The Moon's Path and Ours

      Walking in the Steps.....

Old Woman Who Never Dies is a name given to the moon many ages ago by late stone age peoples all over the planet. Her path through the night skies is the archtype of the oldest ritual in the world. The ritual has been passed on from First Ancestor, to whom we are connected through the golden links of the chain of ancestry, spiritual and physical. Wherever ritual is found today, to some extent it partakes of the first ritual. However faint that trace may be, we are still reaching for that first step in reconnecting to our Higher selves and our greater environment.

Inside the Book, Grandmother Moon (our visible connection to soul) shows us how her ancient path of ongoing life, death, and rebirth, can become in our day a path of transformation into the next level of consciousness. You will find a combination of prehistory, science, psychology and the divine, that teaches us how to walk the path of the moon in the footsteps of First Ancestor, making every day a divination and every month a personal cycle of increasing depth.

The Shadows on the Moon show eight faces of Grandmother Moon—eight changing patterns of dark and light. These patterns correspond to eight energy frequencies that you can learn to distinguish with your feeling nature. They also are an endless series of archetypes that we all are living out simultaneously, whether consciously or unconsciously. Did you ever wonder just what those Moon's shadows, and her perpetually dark back side, mean for you? This knowledge can transform your daily life from mundane to a cosmic adventure if you want it to. We are all hard-wired to resonate internally to these eight frequencies because the entire cycle or archetype

.....Of First Ancestor

already exists in potential within our psyche. We are born with the patterns hardwired into our psyche with the first breath we take.

"Initiation"
is what happens when you intentionally pay attention to the phases of a cycle.  Your directed attention "opens" you into the consciousness of—and your connection with—the Moon. From there, the information that becomes available is very personal and individual. The fact that the same archetypal information is also simultaneously available all around the planet brings us each into the planetary oneness we all have read about.

Transformation of Consciousness comes about through following the path of the moon phase energies over time. Grandmother Moon shows you how her monthly cycle is intimately tied to your own personal life experiences. These eight phase-energies can be interpreted by a lay person as a divination—a day, a month, a year ahead. You don't even have to be psychic to do it, though you might become psychic in the process. The energies and their meanings have always been inherent in their structure, from the beginning, long before our ancestors knew they were human. But every cycle is on an upward spiral of consciousness and and through it we experience our own evolving consciousness. Most exciting, our consciousness unfolds faster when we follow the cycles with conscious intent.
